Symbian Chooses RISC Group IT Solutions for Global Backup
Symbian Ltd., the O/S choice for 85% of mobile phones has selected RISC Group IT Solutions to ensure 1000 Symbian laptop users securely back up their data offsite each day.
Symbian is a software licensing company that develops and supplies the advanced, open, standard operating system - Symbian OS - for data-enabled mobile phones. Symbian sets the world standard for mobile digital data systems.
RISC Group IT Solutions have installed an onsite solution for Symbian to enable them to backup up their global data base to their own data centres.
Headquartered in the UK, Symbian now has more than 1000 staff with offices in Japan, Sweden, UK, USA and India. During 2004, just under 25 million phones using Symbian OS shipped worldwide, and more than 2.5 million phones shipped in December 2004 alone.
